Support in the organisation of the Científics en Joc awards ceremony

On 15 June, the awards ceremony of Científics en Joc, the first Primary School competition for the design of scientific videogames in Catalonia, was held in the Auditorium of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB). Organised by the Secretariat for Universities and Research (Catalan Government) and Eduscopi, the competition aimed at students and teachers in 5th and 6th grade and counted on the participation of 25 schools and over a thousand students. The objective was to design a videogame about a Catalan scientist by defining the characters, the challenges, the environments and the aesthetics of the game.

Eduscopi asked us to help them organizing and coordinating the event. We took charge of the conceptualization of the program, the scripting, the generation of graphic materials and the organisational support during the event.

The award for the best videogame went to the Teresa Salvat Llauradó School (Aleixar) for their proposal L’aventura de Jordi Sabater Pi. This means that the proposal will be programmed by students of the Degree in Design and Production of Video Games (UPC) and published within the website Personatges en joc.

It was a pleasure to collaborate with Eduscopi and we want to congratulate all the finalists for the high level of their proposals.
