Design, dissemination and attendees’ recruitment for the 1st International Research Conference on eHealth and eWell-being
The 1st International Research Conference on eHealth and eWell-being was held on 26 January. The event was organised by the eHealth Center from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), the first transdisciplinary center in Southern Europe aimed at generating and transferring knowledge in the field of digital health. The conference counted with renowned speakers in the e-health sector, such as Alejandro Jadad, founder of the Center for Global eHealth Innovation (Canada), and Stein Olav Skrøvseth, director of the Norwegian Center for E-health Research.
Held at the Palau Macaya in Barcelona, the conference served as a meeting place for experts and people interested in the new scientific evidences derived from e-health. It also provided a framework to discuss the challenges and opportunities that digital technologies could offer for a paradigm shift in health.
We took part in the conceptualisation of the event, collaborating in the selection of the discussion topics and in the proposal of speakers, as well as in the preparation of the program. In addition, we participated in the organisation of the conference, implementing an attendees’ recruitment process that allowed us to discover and attract agents outside the university with potential interests in eHealth.
