Henka: transforming young people’s emotional well-being through digital communication
Henka is a Japanese word that means a positive, profound, and irreversible change. With this transformative spirit, Henka was born—a project driven by the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona and the Z Zurich Foundation to promote the emotional well-being of adolescents and their environment. The initiative, co-created with mental health professionals, educators, families, and young people themselves, places the concept of resilience at its core as a tool to prevent mental health issues.
During the 2023–2024 academic year, at Ubik, we designed and implemented a digital communication strategy to raise awareness about the project and educate young people on the importance of emotional well-being. To achieve this, we launched a paid media campaign on Instagram, tailoring messages and formats to effectively reach the target audience: teenagers, families, and education professionals. Additionally, we created audiovisual and graphic content to convey the program’s values and encourage active community engagement.
The results of the digital campaign exceeded expectations. We successfully reached the target audience, generating interest, views, and visits to the project’s website. The combination of a well-segmented strategy and content designed to connect with each age group was key to achieving real, measurable impact.
This collaboration reaffirms our commitment to communication as a tool for social transformation—especially in areas as sensitive as youth mental health.
