Marketing strategy and materials for the CSIC COCREA innovation call

In 2023, CSIC launched its open innovation hub CONVERGE. Within the framework of this hub, CSIC COCREA was born to drive the public-private co-creation of solutions to global challenges. In this first edition, the challenges were antibiotic resistance and clean and sustainable energy, and UbiK worked with the team that leads the CSIC CONVERGE hub to prepare the strategy and recruitment materials. The result was 10 new collaborative projects between CSIC researchers and companies, which will start in 2024.

UbiK’ assignment was to accompany them in the launch of the new CSIC COCREA innovation call, a challenge that we always enjoy because it combines strategy and creativity in communication with the excitement of seeing something new being born. Our tasks included the conceptualisation and development of the brand; support in the strategy of attracting companies, design and accompaniment in the face-to-face and virtual matchmaking events, in Madrid and b2match respectively, and strategy and creation of creativities for the dissemination of the first CSIC COCREA projects

In addition to creating project summaries, we suggested developing a set of creative materials for each project. These materials were highly versatile, designed to support project dissemination at every stage, and easy to use so that the researchers and companies can also use them to promote their projects, thus enhancing the visibility of the CSIC COCREA brand.

The project, led by Ana Castro, vice-president for Knowledge Transfer at the CSIC, alongside her team, Ana Sanz and Raquel Ballestero, was not only very stimulating for UbiK, but also instrumental in pushing forward new collaborative projects between research and industry. The success of the event is backed up by the fact that 31 specific challenges were presented by 33 companies to tackle antibiotic resistance as well as accelerate the transition towards clean and sustainable energy, which garnered interest from 150 CSIC researchers. We are already looking forward to CSIC COCREA 2024!
