‘SpeakApps: Tools and Tasks’ conference
We maintain a special relation with SpeakApps, an European project led by the UOC, because in the past three years we have seen it to be born, to grow and to become mature. So when we were asked to coordinate the organization of a conference as a closing event for project’s second stage we accepted in the blink of an eye.
The result has been SpeakApps: Tools and Tasks, a half-day conference addressed to language teachers all over Catalonia to show them the solutions offered by the project, which allow students to maximise speaking time. This is precisely one of the critical aspects we face when learning a foreign language.
The event was structured around two keynote lectures, a short introduction to the project and three hands-on workshops aimed to know about SpeakApps tools and how to use them to design and implement pedagogical tasks.
The conference took place on December 13th at the Institut d’Estudis Catalans in Barcelona, and was possible thanks to the close work together with the SpeakApps team. It was, as always, our pleasure. We will meet again in the future, for sure!
