{"id":15920,"date":"2014-11-20T11:47:08","date_gmt":"2014-11-20T11:47:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ubikmedia.net\/social-media-strategy-for-the-gender-ict-group\/"},"modified":"2019-05-31T10:24:48","modified_gmt":"2019-05-31T10:24:48","slug":"social-media-strategy-for-the-gender-ict-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ubikmedia.net\/en\/social-media-strategy-for-the-gender-ict-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Social Media strategy for the Gender &#038; ICT group"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the end of 2014, researchers from the <a href=\"http:\/\/gender-ict.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gender &amp; ICT Research Programme<\/a> within the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uoc.edu\/portal\/en\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Universitat Oberta de Catalunya<\/a> (UOC) contacted us with the need of making a wider dissemination of their studies and investigations, which analyse the role of women regarding the advancements in new information and communication technologies (ICT).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With this in mind, from UbiK we devised and delivered a social media strategy to set the bases and work lines that will for sure allow the group to efficiently communicate their research to their target.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Actually, the Gender &amp; ICT group was an old friend for UbiK: in 2012 they were behind the first <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uoc.edu\/portal\/en\/recerca-innovacio\/difusio-publicacions\/open-thoughts\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Open Thoughts blog<\/a>, an initiative of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uoc.edu\/portal\/en\/recerca-innovacio\/activitat-rdi\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Research and Transfer Office Support<\/a> (OSRT) to disseminate some of the research carried out at the university. The blog, which asked <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ubikmedia.net\/en\/proyectos-5\/proyectosblog-4\/38-blog-de-lopen-thoughts-eng\">What if Steve Jobs had been a woman?<\/a><\/em>, had an extraordinary reception and being its editors was an enriching experience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This new collaboration with the group&#8217;s researchers has also been a pleasure.
